Nana Grizol – Love It Love It

Posted by Peter Lee on May 19, 2008

I got my copy of Love It Love It by Nana Grizol in the mail on Saturday and I think it’s amazing.  It’d be unfair to compare it to Neutral Milk Hotel and have it live in In the Aeroplane Over the Sea’s shadow, but the horns on Love It Love It definitely remind me of Holland, 1945.  But Theo Hilton’s songs and lyrics aren’t weird, disturbing, or strangely structured like Jeff Mangum’s.  Instead, the songs are honest and sincere and remind me more of letters written to old friends or journal entries written about people from your past.

A lady yelled at me at work on Friday.  Apparently her tiny portion (4 oz.) of ice cream was too tiny, despite the fact that she ordered the 2 softest ice creams that day. I couldn’t weigh her order because she didn’t tell me that her portion was too tiny until a few minutes after she ate it all.  She yelled at me and it really hurt my feelings because there is never a reason to yell at someone in an ice cream store.  Anyway, this album did a pretty awesome job of cheering me up.

All in all, go listen to this album and never yell in an ice cream store.
