Layne came by and dropped off my new toy. It was one of the nicest gestures anyone’s ever done towards me! It’s an EIKI 16mm projector. She gave me some 16mm film reels, too. We tried to fire it up but the lamp is broken and we don’t have an empty reel to unload onto the second arm so it’s basically worthless until we get those things. Oh well. I’m getting a 16mm camera soon so be prepared to unexpectedly appear in my short films.
I’m a desk jockey at a Farmer’s Insurance branch for $6 an hour.

Agh my roomis so clean. Well, it’s cluttered but there’s nothing on the floor so there’s a lot of walking space. Summer’s been surprisingly nice. I say it’s surprising because I thought it was going horribly because I’ve been staying inside but it’s been pretty productive. Living alone in a house gives you a lot of time to do whatever you want.
I wake up at 6:00 and eat breakfast. Then I go out in the garden and pick the peppers. I come inside and listen to records and paint. Then I practice piano, guitar, banjo, and harmonica. After that I take a break and read. By the time I’m done it’s the afternoon so I make lunch. Then I continue to paint and read and practice music until evening where I eat dinner and go to sleep.
I’m living like an old man. I haven’t cut out time to write Tiny Adventures #2 so I’ll probably start that next week.

My grandma’s dog just breaks my heart sometimes. He’s such an old and lonely guy. I go out every day to feed him and he gets all excited when I poor him a bowl of food. I put the bowl in his crate but sometimes he won’t eat it. I guess sometimes he’s just excited to see me because he doesn’t have any friends to play with all day. He just sits in his dwelling or lays down under the car and stares out past the gates. He’s been trapped in the backyard for over ten years. The backyard is quite big but still, just imagine being surrounded by those tall iron gates for over ten years with no friends. If you stare into his eyes, you can tell that he knows he’s dying soon. He’s such a sad guy and it kills me.

My grandma’s out of town for two weeks so I get the house to myself. Every morning I wake up at 6:30 AM and pick the ripened peppers out from the garden.
