Walking around the community college just makes me sad sometimes. Most of the students at community college are late twenty somethings or thirty somethings that work full time and are just trying to get their associate’s degrees so they can find better jobs. I was walking around past the library and in the lobby I saw this guy eating a sandwich and watching the TV that they leave on in there. It just made me sad. He’s lived thirty something years and all that time just led up to an overpriced bookstore sandwich and a daytime television program. A lot of people end up like that, not achieving their dreams and such, but I guess I won’t know what that’s really like until I give up on my dreams sixteen years from now.
I was working at the Halloween carnival at school and met the younger Coco sister. I forgot her first name but she’s one of the Coco siblings. She was shadowing Morgan and Matthew to see if she wanted to go to CECHS with us next year. It must be awkward being young and all and walking around the high school. She’s in the eighth grade and went to Lanier like the most of us. I didn’t do much at the Halloween carnival. I ran into one of my Humanities 1301 classmates. He’s in his early twenties and already has 1.5 kids. His daughter must have been around six or seven. Morgan’s mom didn’t want to pick her up at the carnival so she just waited at the dance until ten. I hope she got home because I left two and a half hours before she did. I thought it was mean how her mom didn’t want to pick her up. Her mom could’ve picked her up but she didn’t want to because it seemed a little inconvenient for her. I guess that’s why I gave up on trying to have a social life because of that. Waiting around alone is pretty awful, especially at a lame social event like a high school dance. I guess that’s about one fourth of the reason I haven’t been to a show since April.

Today I had the best lunch ever. My mom grilled me a burger in the morning and I packed it for lunch and then I bought a Dr Pepper. Dr Pepper and a hamburger. For lunch! At school! Amazing. I helped recycle today, too. I did last week. It was horrible. Recycling. When I was holding a recycling bin, I went upstairs and then walked up to the door so I could wait for it to open. But then I remembered that the door wasn’t the kind of door that opened by itself. Crazy. So I opened the door. In Spanish class a bunch of kids asked the teacher if they could have a restroom break. So the teacher said yes. And then they all came back 10 minutes later eating ice cream and the teacher got pissed. It was amazing. I hate Spanish class. Did you know that the pound is a unit of earth’s gravitational force? The unit for [English] mass is the “slug.” To calculate how many slugs are in a pound, take the amount of pounds and divide it by 32. 32 is the amount of feet per second the earth’s gravity pulls things.
Wales has the most castles per square mile than any other country in the world. Amazing.

Punk is a fuckin’ ghetto.
Me and a few acquaintances have engaged in a nice and friendly mustache race. I’m in the lead. What a surprise! Learning the trumpet by trial and error is proven unsuccessful. Chris Clavin sent me a package with a few photographs in them and a sad letter last month. I keep on forgetting to scan them. Here’s a list of things that suck:
-English class
-Dr Pepper substitutes such as Mr. Pibb
-College classes
-Teachers yelling at you
-Finding nothing good on TV at 3 AM
-Ska revival
-Being broke because I spend all my money on Coke, Dr Pepper, musical instruments, records, silk screening supplies, and photography crap
-Being broke and resorting to eating franks and beans every day for dinner and a popsicle before I go to bed
-Not having friends
-Going to bed and not being able to sleep
-Dreaming about movies I saw a long time ago and not remembering what those movies are called
-Telling people about said movies and them denying the existance of said movies
-Vending machines that don’t have Dr Pepper
-Not being at Whataburger
-That spikey-haired balding guy with the goatee at the bookstore
-Barred chords and tight strings
-Sucking at the banjo
-Realizing that photography sucks and it isn’t art
-Punk rock
-Not going to shows
-Having a beergut
-Going to school
I’ve spent every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night home alone playing the banjo or watching TV or recording songs or reading crappy newsgroups on the internet or studying and doing homework since August.
