Low-Lives & High-Fives

I could barely write a grocery list, let alone a weblog.

Finished my finals a little more than a week ago. I’m pretty sure I did good in everything except Spanish 2A. My mom’s been India for around a week now. I got a wad of cash for Christmas. I didn’t buy a bicycle because my dad told me I’m not allowed to ride anymore so I’ve been staying home ever since break started. It kind of sucks. Every time I wake up, the house is empty because my dad’s at work and my mom’s in India and my dad doesn’t get home until the night time. I painted a picture.

I’ve been watching a lot of TV, too. Mostly cable access from Houston Media Source and the channel where they show Houston municipal court 24/7.

On cable access there was a crazy zealot that was talking about how evidence DNA is in the Bible and Jesus is hanging low from the cross because he wanted to make the shape of Y to represent a Y-chromosone.

She used the term “hermaphrodite” in her lecture. I know it isn’t a poltically or scientifically correct term and itt made me think about the medical case I was researching a few months ago about the case of chimerism in a human where the child was born with one testical, a penis, a fallopian tube, and an ovary and the cells in the child’s body had both XY and XX chromosones. I was trying to decide whether “corrective” surgeries were ethical at the time for cases of intersexuality. I still haven’t decided.

I turned on the Houston muncipal court channel and see this kid:

It’s fuckin’ Josh Garber. The Jewish-Canadian kid I used to tease/talk to/joke/debate with in PE and Texas History back in middle school. Last time I saw him was at a Bar Mitzvah. He held up a pretty strong case when defending his opinion on whether law enforcement officials had the right to ask arrested criminals if they were U.S. citizens.

I taught myself how to make books.

I did the binding myself. But there’s a giant straight line on my table and paper cutting mat now due to a box cutter incident in the process.

Yeeeeeeeeep so I saw Rosa again last night at Sedition Books. It seems like a real cool place, it’s still new and being worked on but once it’s finished it’s gonna be awesome. Met up with Dylan and Kyle there. They’re in that picture. I recorded it and just finished cutting it up, I have to wait, hopefully not too long, for this guy to edit it for me because some tracks are too fast. The first few songs are perfect, though. If you listen to Asheville you can hear me say, “AND ALREADY A WEIGHT ON MY BACK” at the awkward pause where the band forgot the words.
